Chamberlain Finishes First in Field of 72 at Tri-State Invitational

Lincoln, RI- Framingham State University freshman Haley Chamberlain (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) finished first in a field of 72 runners leading the Rams to a 4th place team finish at the Tri-State Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by the Community College of Rhode Island.

Chamberlain won the race with at time of 20:02.97 just over two seconds ahead of the second place finisher. The Rams next best time was posted by junior Hannah Daly (Ashland, MA) with a time of 21:48.06 (22nd).

A flurry of Framingham State runners crossed the line in the 22nd minute as freshman Emily Mulloy (East Bridgewater, MA), sophomore Courtney Torres (Westminster, MA/ Dublin Christian Academy) and freshman Megan Peterson (Walpole, MA) placed 27th, 29th & 30th, respectively.

Junior Morgan Zabinski (Rehoboth, MA/ Dighton-Rehoboth) finished in 40th place with a time of 23:44.91 with freshman Valerie Thibaud (Charlton, MA/ Shepherd Hill) right behind her at 23:52.52 (42nd).

Freshman Hannah Rogers (Dighton, MA/ Bristol County Agricultural), junior Emma Hazen (Framingham, MA/ Marian), sophomore Mikaela Ranahan (North Andover, MA) and sophomore Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, MA/ Minnechaug Regional) all finished in the 24th minute in 46th, 47th, 50th & 52nd. Juniors Jenna Anan (Littleton, NH) and Rachel Holland (Holliston, MA/ Norfolk County Agricultural) rounded out the Rams competitors with times of 25:03.26 (53rd) and 26:55.19 (60th).

Framingham State placed fourth as a team with an average time of 21:42.21. The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 11th at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
