Stevens Registers Rams’ Top Finish at Smith College Invitational

Northampton, Mass. – The Framingham State University Men's Cross Country team opened the 2014 season at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday morning. WPI and Coast Guard tied for first place however, WPI was declared the winner based on tiebreaking procedures.  

Sophomore Dan Stevens (Holliston, MA) finished with the best time of the four Rams who competed on Saturday. Stevens registered a time of 33:13.00 good for 68th place overall. Sophomore Richard Wertz (South Easton, MA / Oliver Ames) was able to crack the 100 as he finished 99th posting a time of 36:50.30 (99th). Freshman Doug Perkins (Newton, MA/ Newton North) came home 107th with a time of 41:09.10. Junior Thomas Rainsford (Holliston, MA) rounded out the Rams' lineup crossing the line at 53:52.70 (115th).

The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 20th at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invite slated to start at 11:15 a.m.
