Rams Open 2014 Season with 12th Place Finish at Smith College Invitational

Northampton, Mass. – The Framingham State University Women's Cross Country team opened the 2014 season with a 12th Place finish at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday morning. Amherst College was declared the race champion with an average score of 20:04.56.

That Rams were led by freshman Taylor Roberts (North Brookfield, MA/ Quabbin) with a time of 22:05.20 good for 48th place. Sophomore Courtney Torres (Westminster, MA/ Dublin Christian Academy) crossed the line at 24:11.40 (109th).  Junior Hannah Daly (Ashland, MA) broke the tape at 24:58.00 (129th) quickly followed by freshman Hannah Rogers (Dighton, MA/ Bristol County Agricultural) at 25:09.70 (131st).

Sophomore Kayleigh Laughlin (Gardner, MA) completed the race at the 26:39.10 mark good for 159th place. The remaining Rams finished consecutively in 189th -192nd place. Juniors Rachel Holland (Holliston, MA/ Norfolk Country Agricultural), Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, MA), Morgan Zabinski (Rehoboth, MA/ Dighton-Rehoboth) and Seana Carrigan (North Dighton, MA/ Nighton-Rehoboth) all finished within the 32:31.30- 34:46.80 mark in consecutive places.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 20th at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invite slated to start at 11:15 a.m.
