Women’s Cross Country Comes Home 12th at WNE Invitational

Springfield, Mass. - The Framingham State women's cross country team posted a 12th place finish at the Western New England University Invitational on Saturday. Salve Regina took home the team crown with 55 points while the Rams amassed 367.

Junior Janet Brady (Whitman, Mass.) sliced nearly 45 seconds off her debut performance last week as she clocked a 21:09.12 for 36th place and freshman Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) improved just over 16 ticks over her time a week ago with a time of 22:17.44 (74th). Sophomore Jenna Anan (Littleton, Mass.) was the final Ram in the top-100 as she turned in a 98th-place 23:18.84, an improvement of just under 25 seconds over last week.

Sophomore Fiona Coughlan (Quincy, Mass.) continued to break her personal record with a time of 24:04.91 (118th). Freshman Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, Mass.) was 136th (24:54.47) and sophomore Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, Mass.) shored up the Rams effort with a 146th-place 25:50.06.

The Rams venture to Williams on Saturday for the final tune-up before the first of two November trips to Southern Maine.
