Women’s Cross Country Finishes 27th at James Earley Invitational

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State women's cross country team finished 27th at the 18th annual James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday. The Rams scored 817 points while Williams captured the team crown with 46.

Junior Janet Brady (Whitman, Mass.) paced the Rams with a 21:53.75 (130th) in her season debut. Freshman Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) turned in a 22:33.54, an improvement of 1:21 over her performance two weeks ago, for 168th place. Sophomore Jenna Anan (Littleton, Mass.) clocked a 23:43.56 for 229th and classmate Fiona Coughlan (Quincy, Mass.) crossed the finish line 252nd (24:27.96) as both bested their times at the Elms Blazer Invitational.

Freshman Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, Mass.) posted a 24:29.49 for 268th while sophomore Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, Mass.) was 278th (25:09.98) for their best results of the 2013 campaign. Freshman Kayleigh Laughlin (Gardner, Mass.) checked in with a 297th-place 25:50.11.

Framingham State makes a return trip to Western Mass. on Saturday for the Western New England Cross Country Invitational.
