Women’s Cross Country Finishes 14th at Blazer Cross Country Invitational

Chicopee, Mass. - The Framingham State women's cross country team placed 14th at the 2013 Blazer Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Chicopee Memorial State Park. The Rams posted 343 points while University of New England won the meet with 23 points.

Freshman Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) paced Framingham State with a 54th-place 23:55. Sophomores Emma Hazen (Framingham, Mass.) and Jenna Anan (Littleton, Mass.) checked in 56th (24:13) and 68th (25:04). Rookie Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, Mass.) was 19 seconds quicker than a week ago as she posted a 25:04 for 80th place. Sophomore Fiona Coughlan (Quincy, Mass.) finished 103rd (27:48) and classmate Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, Mass.) shored up the Framingham State participants with a time of 28:45 for 110th place.

The Rams are idle until Saturday, October 12 when the squad heads to the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
