Cross Country Competes at NCAA Regional

Waterford, Conn.- The men's and women's cross country teams participated in the 2015 NCAA Div. III New England Region Cross Country Championship Saturday afternoon at Harkness Memorial State Park.

The women finished in 43rd place while the men's team came in 55th.

The women were paced by Taylor Roberts (North Brookfield, Mass.) with a 6k time of 23:35.0 (92nd). She was followed by Morgan Zabinski (Rehoboth, Mass.) with a time of 25:31.6 (220) and Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) at 26:54.9 (300). Iracely Sanchez (Framingham, Mass.) and Mikaela Ranahan (North Andover, Mass.) rounded out the team scoring with times of 27:12.3 (308) and 27:17.1 (310), respectively.

On the men's side Dan Stevens (Holliston, Mass.) set the tone for the Rams with an 8k time of 29:52 (297). Richie Wertz (South Easton, Mass.) came home at 30:05.8 (308) and Doug Perkins (Newton, Mass.) crossed the line at 31.49.5 (348). Jay Ebersole (Natick, Mass.) & Steven Furtney (Pembroke, Mass.) rounded out the team scoring with times of 33:38.7 (365) & 33:39.8 (366), respectively.
