Volleyball Rallies for 3-2 Victory over WPI and Falls 3-0 to Emerson

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Emerson before rallying for a hard fought 3-2 victory over host WPI at Harrington Auditorium.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Emerson 3, Framingham State 0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-8) 
Framingham State 3, WPI 2 (16-25, 25-23, 18-25, 27-25, 15-11) 

-Records: Framingham State (4-10), WPI (5-8), Emerson (7-7) 

- Location: Harrington Auditorium  Worcester, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In their opening match of the day the Rams were defeated 3-0 by Emerson and received five kills from Hope Verhoeven, while Natalie Reynolds added four. 

  • In their final match of the day, the Rams rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the final two sets and secure the victory over WPI. 

  • Reynolds had a huge match against the Engineers with 17 kills, while Verhoeven added 12 and four digs. 

  • Bailey added 40 assists and 23 digs in the match, while Madysen Cedrone finished with 16 digs. 

  • DiVirgilio added 18 digs, while Jaimee Lowe and Carly Beaulieu added 13 and 13 respectively.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday when they host  Bridgewater State for a MASCAC match beginning at 6 p.m.
