Volleyball Blanks Emmanuel 3-0 in Home Opener

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team defeated Emmanuel College 3-0 in straight sets to win their home opener in non-conference action tonight at the Athletic Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Rams led from the jump in the opening frame, before Emmanuel rallied tying the game at 20-20. The Saints took their first lead of the match 21-22 on a service ace before the Rams scored four straight to secure the set 25-22.
- The Rams took the second and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-14 to secure the non-conference victory.
- Framingham State was paced on the attack by Valerie Sullivan who collected 12 kills on 26 attempts for a .269 hitting percentage.
- Brandee Thomas followed with 11 kills on her 28 swings and added 14 defensive digs.
- Morgan Failla chipped in with four kills, 27 set assists and 10 digs, while Isabel Henwood chipped in a pair of aces and 10 digs.
- Hailey Sander added six kills, three assists and a match best four blocks.
- The Saints were paced by eight kills and seven digs from Sasha Hyacinthe, while Kerry Shea added seven kills and six digs.
- Tatiana Correia led the back row effort with a team high 13 digs.
- Rachel Coleman finished the match with 11 assists and two digs.
