Women’s Track and Field Competes at Springfield College Classic

Springfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's outdoor track and field team was back in action this afternoon with a solid showing at the Springfield College Classic that saw multiple athletes qualify for the MASCAC Championship meet later this spring.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Jamie Moniz once again had a solid day for the Rams as she placed 11thin 200m run (28.22), seventh in the high jump (1.42m) and fifth in the triple jump (10.26m). 

  • Alyssa Caputo had a solid day for the Rams in the throwing events qualifying for three events at the MASCAC meet. Caputo placed fifth in the shot put (33'4.75"), sixth in the discus (102'8") and 11thin the hammer (98'6"). 

  • The Rams saw four runners finish in the top 20 in the 800m run. Natalie Grimaldo finished seventh (2:42.4), Justinne Quinanola finished 14th(2:49.07), Allie Harmouth crossed in 19th (3:22.6) and Yuika Tano in 20th at 3:24.21. 

  • Meghan Johnston was the Rams top finisher in the 1500m run crossing nineth with a time of 5:28.83, while Camille Graffeo finished 12th (5:55.05). 

  • The Rams 4x100 relay team of Cassandra Toth, Norah Russell, Megan McAuliffe and Lydia Marunowski finished 5that 57.64, while the 4x400 relay team of Grimaldo, Johnston, Quinanola and Moniz finished third at 4:36.02.

The Rams are back in action on Monday when they travel to Regis
