Women's Track and Field Opens Season at Bears Invitational

THE BASICS:

- Location:  Bridgewater, Mass. – Swenson Athletic Complex 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

• Newcomb recorded a pair of solid performances for the Rams finishing first in the 3000M steeple chace completing the race in a time of 13:15.68. Newcomb crossed the line fourth in the 800M run earlier in the day. Newcomb finsihed the 800 in a time of 2:29.26. 

• Caputo competing in her first collegiate meet placed sixth in the discus throw. Caputo toss went 31.41 meters, while teammate Kaylee Beck placed 13th in the event with a toss of 26.72M. 

• Beck was the Rams top finisher in the shot put. She placed 10th with her toss of 9.06M, while Mollie Pimentel also had a good day in the event with her toss of over seven meters. 

• Patrice Haney was solid for the Rams in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Haney placed 21st in the 100 with a time of 14.01 and 25th in the 200 with a time of 29.5.  

• Elizabeth Dykstra placed 18th for the Rams in the 400M dash with a time of 1:07.54, while Leah Chace and Jamie Mills were also solid with times of 1:08.79 and 1:15 respectively. 

• Becca Morris finished ninth in the 400M hurdles for the Rams finishing at 1:23.89.
