Women’s Soccer Closes Regular Season with Loss at Fitchburg

Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team overpowered Framingham State 5-0 on Friday evening to close the regualr season for both squads.  

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Fitchburg State 5, Framingham State 0 

  • Records: Framingham State (4-14-2, 2-4-1), Fitchburg State (3-11-3, 3-3-1) 

  • Location: Fitchburg, MA – Elliot Field 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Fitchburg State set the tone early, scoring three goals in the first half. Adrianna Westcott netted the first goal in the eighth minute off assists from Sophia Moore and Charlotte Meixsell.  

  • Meixsell then scored at the 17th minute, assisted by Kendra Peretzman, followed by an unassisted goal from Moore to close the first half up 3-0. 

  • In the second half, Westcott added her second goal, while Peretzman found the net with help from Stella Liebler to round out the scoring at 5-0. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Rams goalkeeper Madison Magone made 10 saves despite the onslaught of shots. Cassandra Pendleton saved all five shots faced to secure the shutout for the Falcons. 

  • Shots: Fitchburg State dominated with 27 total shots, 15 on goal, compared to Framingham's 10 shots and five on target. 

  • Corner Kicks: Framingham State struggled to generate offensive set pieces, as the focus shifted to defending against Fitchburg's relentless attacks. 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams qualify for the MASCAC Tournament which begins on Wednesday, November 6th. Official bracket pairing will be released by the conference over the weekend.
