Women’s Soccer Blanks Fisher on Senior Night

Framingham, MA – The Framingham State women's soccer team powered past Fisher College with a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday evening at Maple St. Field, 

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Framingham State opened the scoring just before halftime. At the 42:13 mark, forward Hailey Ring found the back of the net off an assist from Beyonce Gray, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead going into the break.  

  • Gray returned the favor in the second half, scoring in the 68th minute off a setup from Ring to double the lead and secure the win. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Goalkeeper Madison Magone shared duties with Kailyn Bearce to keep Fisher at bay, with neither goalie facing a shot on goal. Olivia Leo: Put in a stellar performance with 17 saves, managing to keep the game close despite Framingham's offensive dominance. 

  • Shots: Framingham State tallied 34 shots, 19 on goal, while Fisher only managed two shots, neither on target. 

  • Corner Kicks: Framingham State held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action on Friday when they close the regular season with a MASCAC clash at Fitchburg State.
