Women’s Soccer Earns First Win in MASCAC Opener over MCLA

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State earned its first win of the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over MCLA on Saturday morning at Maple St. Field. Hailey Ring led the way with two second-half goals, sealing the win for the Rams. With the win, Rams first-year Head Coach Michael LaFrancesca earned his first collegiate coaching victory.

  • Records: Framingham State (1-5-0, 1-0-0 MASCAC), MCLA (0-6-0, 0-1-0 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Framingham State struck first in the 39th minute when Melissa Romeiro capitalized on a loose ball, scoring an unassisted goal off her own rebound to put the Rams up 1-0 before halftime.  

  • In the second half, Hailey Ring doubled the lead in the 59th minute with a goal assisted by Alicia Tocman. Ring scored her second of the match in the 89th minute, again assisted by Tocman, securing the 3-0 victory. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots: Framingham State 30, MCLA 5 

  • Saves: MCLA 20, Framingham State 4 

  • Corners: Framingham State 10, MCLA 0 

  • Framingham's offense dominated with 30 total shots, 23 on target. Mallory Amirian, MCLA's goalkeeper, made 20 saves but couldn't stop Framingham's relentless attack. For the Rams, Madison Magone stopped all 4 shots she faced in 77 minutes of play, while Kailyn Bearce closed out the match in goal.
