Women's Soccer Blanked at Clark

Worcester, Mass. – The Framingham State women's soccer team faced a tough defeat on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Clark University in non-conference play at Granger Field. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Clark University 4, Framingham State 0 

  • Records: Framingham State (0-3-0), Clark University (2-1-0) 

  • Location: Granger Field – Worcester, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Clark University took control early in the match, scoring three goals in the first 20 minutes. Georgia Louis netted the first goal at 14:30 off an assist from Isabel Echeverry. Less than a minute later, Louis struck again, this time assisted by goalkeeper Anabella White, doubling Clark's lead. 

  • Emma Shaughnessy added a third goal in the 19th minute, assisted by Louis, giving the home team a comfortable cushion heading into halftime. Framingham State's defense faced heavy pressure, and despite a few offensive pushes, they were unable to find the back of the net. 

  • In the second half, the Rams fought hard but were unable to break through Clark's defense. The final goal came in the 78th minute when Shaughnessy completed her brace with an unassisted effort, bringing the score to 4-0. 

  • Framingham's closest chances came from shots by Tarynn Smith and Cathryn Cooney, but Clark's goalkeeper White was solid, making five saves to keep the clean sheet.

Magone made five saves for the Rams in the loss, while White turned away all six of Framingham's shots on goal for Clark.
