Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State women's soccer team fell to WPI in non-conference action by a score of 4-0 on Thursday evening at Maple Street Field. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday but was postponed due to heavy rain. With the win the Engineers are now 3-0 as the Rams slip to 0-2.

WPI opened up scoring in the 11th minute when Hannah Modelski (Hollis, NH) kicked in a loose ball after the Rams goalie attempted to clear an Engineers corner kick.

The Engineers added to their first half lead in the 43rd minute when Kirsten McCrea (Weymouth, Mass.) beat the Rams goalie right to left after a long pass from Becca Hapgood (Halifax, Mass.)

The visitors added two insurance goals in the second half to reach the 4-0 margin. In the 68th minute, after a corner from McCrea, the ball bounced around before being gathered by Sophie Gomarlo (Swanzey, NH) who sent it home. McCrea then added her second of the day sending a strike from 20 yards out past the diving keeper.

The Rams best chance to score came right around the 19th minute when a Rams player had a 1-on-1 with the WPI goalkeeper who made a slide tackle to clear the ball out of harms way.

Mandy St. Germain (Upton, Mass.) got the win for the Engineers making two saves in just less than 78 minutes of work before giving way to Lauren Francis (Natick, Mass.).
