Women's Lacrosse Shoots Past Keene State 18-6

Keene, N.H. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team jumped out to the early lead and never looked back as the Rams defeated Keene State 18-6 this evening in non-conference action at the Owl Athletic Complex.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced on the attack by nine goals from Leah Green. Green found the back of the net on nine of her 10 shots in the game and added a ground ball and a draw control. 

  • Molly Lanier chipped in with four goals and two assists with seven draw controls, while Kelley DeBellis finished the game with two goals and Hailey Baker added a goal and two assists. 

  • Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net going 45 minutes allowing six goals while making six saves. Allison Wurms worked 15 minutes between the pipes without allowing a goal while making three stops. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Rams tallied the first three goals of the game with Green striking first followed by Madeline Bosma and Maggie Grout. Keene State tallied a lone goal in the final minutes of the opening frame and the Rams led 3-1 after one. 

  • Keene State opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals before Green and DeBellis tallied markers for the Rams pushing the lead to 5-3. 

  • Keene State scored to make the score 5-4 with 6:44 to play in the second, but the Rams closed the quarter with four straight including three from Green to lead 9-4 at the half. 

  • The Rams outscored the Owls 5-2 in the third and led 14-6 heading to final 15 minutes. The Rams held the Owls off the board in the fourth as they added four more goals to reach the final margin.

The Rams are back in action Saturday when they travel to Fitchburg State at 12 p.m.
