Women's Lacrosse Cruises to 21-6 Victory over Fitchburg State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as the Rams defeated Fitchburg State 21-6 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Maple Street.

- Records: Framingham State (7-2, 2-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (5-4, 0-1 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams opened the game with an 8-0 run over the first seven minutes. Hannah Guerin and Molly Lanier each scored twice on the stretch. 

  • Fitchburg got on the board with a free position shot with just over six on the clock in the first, but the Rams closed the quarter with three straight to lead 12-2 after one. 

  • The Rams opened the second with goals from Rachel Erickson, Lanier and Leah Green to lead 15-2. 

  • Fitchburg tallied back-to-back goals closing the gap to 15-4, but the Rams would add one more from Hailey Baker to lead 16-5 at the half. 

  • The Rams maintained the double digit advantage throughout the second half in route to the victory. 

  • The Rams were paced by five goals and two assists from Lanier, while Guerin finished the game with four goals and two helpers. 

  • Green and Baker finished with three goals and an assist apiece, while Erickson scored three times and recorded two assists. 

  • The Falcons were led by three goals and an assist from Nicole Orlowski. 

  • Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net for the Rams making five saves.
