Women’s Lacrosse Soars to 15-7 Win Over Becker

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team received six goals from senior Zoe Reilly (Boyertown, PA) as the Rams defeated Becker College 15-7 this evening in non-conference action this evening at Maple Street Field.   

With the win, the Rams improve to 7-2 on the year, while the Hawks even their record at 6-6.

Tied at 4-4 with just under 14 minutes remaining, the Rams closed the half with a 6-2 run to take a 10-6 lead into the half. The Rams were led by four first half goals from Reilly and a pair from freshman Morghan Cassella (Lowell, Mass.).  The Hawks were pace by two goals apiece from juniors Kailee Ruyack (Beacon, NY) and Victoria Belcher (Seekonk, Mass.).

The Rams scored the first five goals of the second half including two more from Reilly and single goals from Cassella, freshman Kristen Keenan (Methuen, Mass.) and sophomore Kristen Hoggins (Harvard, Mass.).  The Hawks lone goal of the second half came with 1:13 remaining in the game when junior Rachel Welling (Charlestown, NH) converted a free position shot.

The Rams outshot the Hawks 31-19 in the game, but the Hawks held an 18-16 edge in ground balls. Junior Alysha Cericola (Waltham, Mass.) earned the victory in net making six saves, while Karena Prescott (New Bedford, Mass.) suffered the loss for the Hawks despite making eight stops.

The Rams are back in action Saturday afternoon when they host Worcester State at 12 p.m., while the Hawks host Colby-Sawyer on Saturday at 1 p.m.
