Women's Ice Hockey Falls 4-2 to Plymouth State in MASCAC Action

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's ice hockey team tallied a late third period goal, but it was not enough as the Rams were defeated this evening 4-2 by Plymouth State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Loring Arena.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Panthers grabbed a 1-0 lead on a goal from Jacque Martin midway through the first period. 

  • The Rams tied the game when Petra Cernicek converted off feeds from Amy Tansek and Kalina Cochran with 3:24 to play in the first, but the Panthers closed the frame with a goal from Laura Castronova to lead 2-1 after one. 

  • The Panthers opened the second period with a pair of power play goals in the opening two minutes pushing the lead to 4-1. 

  • The Rams received a breakaway goal from Finley Hogan with just over to play in the game cutting the deficit to 4-2. Lily Wilson picked up an assist on the goal. 

  • Anna McGinty took the loss between the pipes for the Rams making 55 saves.
