Women’s Ice Hockey Shutout by Rivier

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's ice hockey team was defeated 4-0 by Rivier University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Loring Arena.

-Scores:  Rivier 4, Framingham State 0 

-Records: Framingham State (0-13, 0-7 MASCAC), Rivier (7-7, 4-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Buffone Arena Worcester, Mass 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Rivier took a 1-0 lead with a power play goal from Rebecca McKelvey at 7:24 in the first period and the Raiders extended the lead to 2-0 when Brianna Rumptz knocked home a rebound with just under six to play in the second. 

  • Rivier added a pair of fourth period goals to reach the final margin. 

  • Rivier finished the game 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Rams went 0-for-1 on the power play. 

  • Anna McGinty made 16 saves in her period of action between the pipes for the Rams, while Brigid Milligan made 22 stops in the second period.  Lila Chamoun made 22 stops in the final period for the Rams.
