East Boston, MA – The Suffolk Rams powered past Framingham State with a commanding 11-0 victory in non-conference women's ice hockey action on Saturday night at East Boston's Porrazzo Arena. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Final Score: Suffolk 11, Framingham State 0 

  • Records: Suffolk (3-5-0), Framingham State (0-7-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

1st Period: 

  • Suffolk wasted no time, lighting the lamp four times in just over a minute. Maddie Gagliano started the scoring frenzy at 11:16, followed by a pair of goals from Cassie Borowski and a tally by Katie Newkirk. 

2nd Period: 

  • The offensive onslaught continued with Suffolk adding five more goals. Bella Schmidt and Liliana Moose added to the tally, including two shorthanded markers from Kate Pohl and Lily Abraham during Framingham State's power plays. 

3rd Period: 

  • Suffolk capped the scoring with two additional goals in the final frame, including Schmidt's second of the night and a late goal from Aiden Levee-Oshiro. 

 

KEY PERFORMERS: 

Suffolk:  

  • Cassie Borowski: Two goals and an assist, key to Suffolk's early momentum. 

  • Bella Schmidt: Two goals, including a shorthanded effort, with strong two-way play. 

  • Liliana Moose: A goal and two assists, anchoring the Suffolk defense and offense. 

  • Lola Rubenstein: Perfect in net, earning the shutout with 13 saves. 

Framingham State: 

  • Anna McGinty: Made 16 saves in the first period to keep her team within reach early. 

  • Sarah Lewis: Added physicality, leading Framingham State with two penalty minutes. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots on Goal: Suffolk overwhelmed Framingham State 61-13, including a 27-3 margin in the final period. 

  • Special Teams: Neither team converted on the power play. Suffolk had two opportunities, while Framingham State failed to capitalize on four chances. 

  • Discipline: Framingham State served 4 minutes on 2 infractions, while Suffolk totaled 8 penalty minutes on 4 infractions.
