Second Seed Women's Basketball Falls to Top Seed Bridgewater State in MASCAC Tournament Championship

Bridgewater, Mass. - The second seeded Framingham State University women's basketball team saw their season come to a close this afternoon as they were defeated 76-65 by top seed Bridgewater State in championship game of the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Tournament at the Tinsley Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 17 points from Katherine Haselton. Haselton connected on 6-of-14 from the floor and added five rebounds, five assists and two steals in her final game as a Ram. 

  • Faith Greene chipped in with a double-double as she tallied 12 points and grabbed a team best 10 rebounds. Greene added an assist, two steals and a blocked shot. 

  • Jacqueline Schels added 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Kiara Cerruti came off the bench to tally 12 points with three assists. 

  • The Bears were led by a game-high 26 points from Tournament MVP Haley Burchhardt who connected on 6-of-9 from behind the arc in the game. 

  • The Rams led 4-3 after a Haselton layup in the opening minutes of the first, but the Bears used a 9-2 run to take a 12-6 lead. The Rams cut the deficit to four, but the Bears led 19-13 after one. 

  • In the second quarter, the Rams cut the deficit to two, 24-22, after a Greene jumper with 7:04 on the clock.  The Bears responded pushing the advantage to ten, 36-26, with just under two to play. The Rams scored four straight to pull within six, but the Bears closed the quarter with a pair of threes to lead 43-33 at the half. 

  • The Rams would get no closer than six in the second half as the Bears secured the MASCAC Tournament Championship.
