Women's Basketball Outlasts Clark
Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team used a pair of 20-point performances en route to an 81-80 win over Clark University in non-conference play Tuesday evening.  

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams were led by a dominant double-double from Faith Greene, who tallied 20 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass. Greene also added a block in her 27 minutes on the court. 

  • Jacqueline Schels poured in a team-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. 

  • Michelle Moreno played all 40 minutes, contributing 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while Katherine Haselton added 10 points and three assists. 

  • Clark University's Kailey Rios led all scorers with 20 points, including six three-pointers, while Cyriah Coleman and Jacqueline Faulise each notched 19 and 13 points, respectively. Coleman and Faulise both grabbed nine rebounds. 

  • The Rams narrowly outshot the Cougars from the floor, 41.3% to 40.9%, and outrebounded them 44-42, with a critical 17 offensive rebounds. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After breaking a 13 all tie Framingham responded with a 7-0 run, highlighted by Faith Greene's layups and a three-pointer from Jacqueline Schels (6:57), widening the gap to 15-23. 

  • Clark answered, cutting the lead to three but the Rams ended the half with a Michelle Moreno fast break layup to send the teams to the break with the Rams leading 40-33. 

  • Clark outpaced the Rams 30-18 in the third quarter which gave the visitors a 63-58 lead. The Rams quickly erased the deficit after Faith Greene scored the first six points of the fourth quarter. 

  • The lead would be traded a few times over the ensuing moments, but Green gave the Rams the lead for good with about four minutes to go.  

  • The Rams were able to manage the clock effectively to secure the 81-80 win.

The Rams close the first semester at 6-4 and will return to the court on January 2nd when they host Salve Regina as part of a three-day set with Saint Joe's of Maine.
