O'Day & O'Connor Earn MASCAC Weekly Awards

Framingham, Mass.- Framingham State senior Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week and freshman Flannery O'Connor (Amesbury, Mass.) has been named MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 2nd.

O'Day who earns her third MASCAC Player of the Week award averaged 23 points with 6.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 15-of-21 (71.4%) from the floor and 10-of-14 (71.4%) from the three-point line in a 2-0 week for the Rams. She scored 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting and seven boards in the 79-54 win over MCLA then added 27 points on 5-of-7 shooting from long range in the 92-53 win over Salem State to secure the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament.

O'Connor who was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the eighth time this season averaged 14 points and 10 boards while shooting 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Rams. The freshman scored 11 points with nine boards in 18 minutes of play in the 79-54 win at MCLA. She scored 17 with 11 boards on 8-of-9 shooting from the field in the 92-53 win over Salem State to secure the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament.
