Softball Chosen to Finish Second in 2025 MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass. – The reigning MASCAC Tournament Champion Framingham State University softball team has been slated to finish second in the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Preseason Poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches.
The Rams were chosen to finish second in the poll with 41 points and a single first place vote. Returning for the Rams are infielders Brooke Grassia and Makayla Rooney. Grassia was a second team All-MASCAC selection in 2024 when she batted .371 with four doubles, three triples and 21 RBI. Rooney batted .315 with 45 hits including eight doubles, two home runs and 25 RBI a year ago.
Westfield State claimed the top spot in the poll with 48total points and six first place votes. Worcester State secured the third spot with 39 points and the final first place vote, while Bridgewater State and Salem State claimed the fourth spot with 27 points apiece. Fitchburg State claimed the sixth spot with 20 points, while Mass. Maritime (12 points) and MCLA (eight points) rounded out the poll in seventh and eighth.
The Rams open the season on March 8th when they host Harford for a pair of games at Maple Street Field.
