Springfield Scores Late to Down Men’s Soccer; 1-0

Framingham, MA – Connor Policarpio scored in the 79thminute to send Springfield College to a 1-0 win over Framingham State Tuesday evening at Maple Street Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After a scoreless first half with both teams generating opportunities but failing to convert, Springfield found the game-winning goal in the 79th minute. Connor Policarpio seized the opportunity with an unassisted strike, putting the visitors up 1-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining. 

  • Framingham State pushed hard in the final moments, but Springfield's defense and goalkeeper Noah Pote held steady, preventing any late equalizers. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots: Springfield led in shots, 22-10, with 12 on target compared to Framingham's four. 

  • Corners: Springfield had the advantage in corner kicks, 6-1. 

  • Timothy Singleton recorded an impressive 11 saves to keep Framingham within reach. Noah Pote made four saves to earn the shutout victory for the Pride.
