MCLA Surges Past Men’s Soccer in MASCAC Play

North Adams, Mass. – Framingham State dropped its MASCAC opener 5-1 against MCLA on Friday evening at Shewcraft Field. Despite a late goal by Abdellah Eddahbi, the Rams were unable to match MCLA's offensive intensity.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

MCLA opened the scoring early, with Jacob Richardson netting the first goal in the 10th minute, assisted by Jacob Malburg and Marcos Lopez. MCLA doubled its lead in the 21st minute as Malburg scored his fourth goal of the season off an assist from Traizen Griffith. Just before halftime, Mateo Phillips made it 3-0, converting a pass from Avery Manzolini and Avani Richardson. 

The Trailblazers continued their momentum into the second half, with Kyle Almeida adding an unassisted goal in the 68th minute, followed by a strike from Ethan Smith in the 79th minute to make it 5-0. Framingham State responded shortly after with Abdellah Eddahbi scoring an unassisted goal in the 81st minute, but it was too late to mount a comeback.

  • Framingham State's goalkeepers Tyler Holden and Michael Walker split time in net, making a combined 9 saves. Holden allowed 3 goals in the first half, while Walker conceded 2 in the second half.
