Dartmouth, Mass.– The Framingham State men's soccer team played to a 3-3 tie at UMass Dartmouth in the opening game of the season for both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Rams scored their first goal of the season in the 9thminute when Bryce Borletto-McCray scored off a setup from Jose Figueroa.

The Corsairs answered in the 15thminute when Justin Petrillio scored off a pass from Joey Paiva.

The Rams took a 2-1 lead to the half after a Joao De Aquino score in the 30th minute and tacked on an insurance goal when De Aquino scored again in the 64th minute.

The Corsairs battled back when Petrillo cut the deficit to one score in the 76thminute and with just over nine minutes to play Braeden LeClair sent in the equalizer as regulation would end tied at 3.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Tim Singleton made seven saves in net for the Rams while Ethan Donahue turned away two FSU attempts in goal for the Corsairs.

UMD held a 23-to-15 advantage in shots and 11-to-2 margin in corner kicks.

The physical contest saw a combined 21 fouls and five cautions.
