Men’s Soccer Holds On For 1-0 Win at Curry

Milton, Mass. – The Framingham State men's soccer team held on to a 1-0 first half lead to propel them over Curry College Tuesday afternoon in Milton. With the win the Rams improve to 2-3 on the season while the Colonels drop to 2-3-1 overall.

Framingham State was on the attack for most of the first half, outshooting the Colonels 10-5. At the 8:32 mark the Rams took a 1-0 lead that would prove to be the game winner. Senior Simon Appiah (Worcester, Mass.) hit a one-time pass from 18 yards out off an assist from sophomore Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.).

Curry had the momentum in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net.  They outshot the Rams 11-6 in the stanza.   

The Rams senior goalkeeper Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) made six stops in the shutout win for FSU.  The Colonels senior goalkeeper Dan Johnson (Easton, Conn.) made five stops in net.

The Colonels return to action on Saturday, September 17 when they travel to Endicott College for a Commonwealth Coast Conference match at 7:00 p.m.  The Rams will return to action on Saturday, September 17 when they host MASCAC opponent Fitchburg State. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
