Buzzards Bay, Mass. - Senior Jepherson Cardoso (Framingham, Mass.) netted a pair of goals to lead Framingham State to a 2-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the regular season finale for both teams Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Cardoso gave the visiting Rams (9-6-2, 6-1 MASCAC) the only tally they would need 6:20 into action when he converted a feed from sophomore Nick Cotter (Sandwich, Mass.), and he added an insurance marker in the 70th minute of play on a rebound off junior Nathan Hall's (Toronto, Ont.) direct kick for his 10th goal of the season to ice Framingham State's triumph.

Senior Sam Yoder (Southbridge, Mass.) picked up his eighth victory and fourth shutout of the season in goal for the Rams with three saves, while senior Brett Young (Falmouth, Mass.) made a pair of stops in his final home contest in the setback for the host Buccaneers (6-9-2, 1-5-1 MASCAC), as Framingham State outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 10-7 margin and held a 3-2 edge in corners for the evening.

Massachusetts Maritime currently holds the sixth and final playoff spot in next week's MASCAC Championships, as the Buccaneers would compete in the conference quarterfinal round on Tuesday if that holds over the weekend.  Framingham State has clinched the second seed in the MASCAC Championships and will host a semi-final round contest at Maple Street Field in Framingham, Mass. next Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

Complete championship brackets will be released Saturday evening at www.mascac.com.
