New London, Conn. – The Framingham State University men's soccer team surrendered a goal in the game's closing minutes as they were defeated 3-2 on the road this afternoon by Connecticut College in non-conference action.

The loss snaps a three game win streak for the Rams who are now 8-6-2 on the season, while Conn. College wins its second straight and improves to 5-2-6 on the year.

The Rams got on the board first in the 26th minute as senior Jepherson Cardoso (Framingham, Mass.) stole the ball from a Camel defender and blasted a shot into the back of the net from 20 yards out.

The lead would not stand for long as two minutes later the Camels tied the score when Mike Flippin redirected a header from Zach Punt into the back of the net.

The game would remain tied at 1-1 until late in the half as Cardoso once again put the Rams on top.  Sophomore Bryan DaSilva (Milford, Mass.) sent a thru ball to Cardoso who found the back of the net for his second of the day and his team leading eighth marker of the season.

The Camels answered once again knotting the score in the opening minutes of the second half.  Kevin O'Brien sent a pass to Winslow Murdoch and Murdoch headed it home tying the score at 2 all in the 48th minute.

The game would remain 2-2 until the closing minutes.  The Camels scored the game winner with 2:15 left in the game as Murdoch fired a low shot from 15 yards out into the net for his second of the game.

The Camels held a slight edge in shots for the game, 13-12, and a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Senior Sam Yoder (Southbridge, Mass.) started in net for the Rams surrendering two goals while making four stops before giving way to sophomore Kiko Anzoategui (Peabody, Mass.) who made no saves and surrendered the game winner.

The Rams close out the regular season on Friday evening at Mass. Maritime with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.
