Men's Soccer Wins Second Straight

Framingham, MA- The Framingham State College men's soccer team picked up their second consecutive shutout victory at home today with a 1-0 win over the Becker College Hawks on Maple Street Field.  With the win, the Rams improve to 2-1 on the season while the Hawks are 3-2.

Framingham State College freshman midfielder Scott Faria (Fall River, MA) picked up the game winner and the games only goal in the 30th minute as he corralled a pass from junior Michael Jones (Norwood, MA) and fired a shot into the back of the net.

Neither team was able to generate many good scoring opportunities during the game as the Hawks had seven shots on the day and the Rams had only 11.  Becker College goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC) made four saves and picked up the loss, while Framingham State goalie Eddie Palomba (Saugus, MA) made four saves and picked up his second shutout win of the season.  With the win, Palomba tied the Framingham State College men's soccer record for career wins as he now has 18 wins, a mark he shares with two former Rams. 

The Rams return to action on Monday as they travel to Johnson & Wales for a 4 p.m. game, while the Hawks travel to Rivier on Tuesday.
