Men's Ice Hockey Falls to Worcester State 3-1

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's ice hockey team surrendered a pair of third period goals as they were defeated 3-1 by Worcester State this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Loring Arena.

-Records: Framingham State (2-18-3, 1-13-2 MASCAC), Worcester State (11-11-2, 8-7-2 MASCAC) 

- Location: Loring Arena Framingham, Mass.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • After a scoreless first period, the Rams struck first midway through the second period with a power play goal.  Scott Bugarin found the back of the net of feeds from Kaleb Kinskey and Walker Smith. 

  • The Lancers tied the game in the final two minutes of the second when Anders Grongstad knocked home a rebound. 

  • Worcester State took a 2-1 lead in the opening minutes of the third when Christian Howanitz knocked home a rebound off a shot from Charlie Yott. The Lancers extended the lead to 3-1 with a goal nine minutes into the third and that would be the final goal of the game. 

  • Worcester State held a 24-13 edge in shots for the game and went 0-for-5 with the man advantage, while the Rams went 1-of-5 on the power play.
