WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State men's ice hockey team edged Framingham State 3-2 in a closely contested matchup on Saturday night at Amelia Park Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

1st Period: 

  • Westfield State jumped out to an early lead at 8:23 when Emile Tremblay scored off assists from Christopher Miraldo and Louis Ouellet. 

  • The Owls doubled their advantage at 15:22 as Cooper Board found the back of the net, assisted by Raphael Seguin and Emile Pichette. 

2nd Period: 

  • Westfield State restored their two-goal cushion at 13:24 through Julian Boisclair, who was set up by Cooper Board and Emile Pichette. 

3rd Period: 

  • Despite late pressure from Framingham State, Westfield State's defense held firm to secure the victory. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State outshot Westfield State 34-30. 

  • Westfield State went 0-for-0 on the power play, while Framingham State was 0-for-2. 

  • Both teams played a disciplined game, combining for just two penalties totaling four minutes.
