Rivier Edges Men' Ice Hockey in Overtime Thriller

Nashua, N.H. – Rivier University outlasted Framingham State in a tightly contested game, earning a 4-3 overtime victory in MASCAC men's ice hockey action on Friday night at Conway Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

1st Period: 

  • 13:20 – Rivier opened the scoring as Tyler Duderstadt buried a shot, assisted by Cody Rumsey and Brady Bomal, giving the Raiders a 1-0 lead. 

2nd Period: 

  • 12:00 – The Rams took the lead as Scott Bugarin capitalized on a turnover, scoring unassisted to make it 2-1. 

3rd Period: 

  • 03:14 – Rivier responded early in the third as Brady Bomal finished a pass from Alfred Rotiroti, leveling the score at 2-2. 

  • 05:13 – The Raiders regained the lead with Nicolas Paolucci converting a shot off assists from Bomal and Cormac Hayes, making it 3-2. 

  • 05:49 – Framingham State answered just 36 seconds later, as Tyler Westfall scored unassisted to even the game at 3-3. 

Overtime: 

  • 01:19 – Rivier sealed the victory in dramatic fashion when Nicolas Paolucci scored his second goal of the game, set up by Cody Rumsey, to end it 4-3.
