UMD Skates by Ice Hockey; 10-1

Framingham, Mass.. – The UMass Dartmouth men's ice hockey team saw six different players score goals in the first period goals en route to a 10-1 win over Framingham State Thursday evening at Loring Arena. With the win the Corsairs improve to 10-12-2 and 7-8-2 in league play. The Rams fall to 3-18-2 and 2-14 in the MASCAC.

The Corsiars scored six first period goals, added three more in the second and the two teams each tallied one in the final frame.

Jonathan Ruiz (Williamstown, NJ) led the way for the Corsairs registering a hat trick and one assist. Mike Sones (Waterdown, ON) scored a goal with two assists while Jeff Kirkwood (Ithaca, NY) and Casey Shea (Woburn, Mass.) each registered a goal and an assist.

Kris Holmes (Newburyport, Mass.), Connor Court (Swansea, IL), Dillon Radin (Long Beach, NY)

& Brendan McDonough (Wilmington, Mass.) were all solo goal scorers.

The Rams lone goal came from senior Jake McKinnon (Framingham, Mass.) who was assisted by Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, Mass.)

Drew Michael (Newton, Mass.) earned the win in net for the Corsairs turning away 26 shots. Greg Harney (East Haven, Conn.) made the start in net for the Rams before giving way to Dom Montecalvo (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Adam Calabrese (Philadelphia, PA).

UMD was 1-for-8 on the man advantage; the Rams were 0-for-5 and allowed a short-handed tally. The Rams were outshot 41-to-27 in the contest.

The Corsairs close their regular season with a MASCAC contest on Saturday, February 17th when they travel to Worcester State. The Rams will celebrate senior day on the same afternoon when they host Plymouth State
