Bridgewater State Tops Men's Basketball in MASCAC Action

Bridgewater, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team was defeated 99-68 on the road this afternoon by Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Tinsley Center.

-Records: Framingham State (4-16, 1-6 MASCAC), Bridgewater State (15-5, 5-2 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Ivan Nyantenji scored 13 points and notched two rebounds and two steals off the bench for Framingham State. Nyantenji connected on 4-of-8 from the floor. 

  • Juron Ligonde added 12 points, an assist, a block and four rebounds for the Rams, while Jahden Erold chipped in with 10 points on 4-of-8 from the floor. 

  • JD Okafor just missed a double double for the Rams as he tallied nine points and grabbed a team best 11 boards including six on the offensive glass. 

  • Marshall Martin finished the game with eight points for the Rams and seven boards with six of those coming on the offensive end of the floor. 

  • Dante Kikuba scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Bridgewater State. Kikuba connected on 7 of 12 field goal attempts and went 7-for-8 at the free throw line and also added a game-best nine assists and three steals. 

  • Emerson Halbleib checked in with 18 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Halbleib was 7-for-8 from the floor and a perfect 4-for-4 at the charity stripe. 

  • The Bears also received ten points, three rebounds and a pair of assists from Justin Parsons as well as ten points and three steals in 13 minutes off the bench from Keyth Key.   

  • Bridgewater shot 52.8% (38-72) for the game and 94.7% (18-19) at the foul line. The BSU defense forced 17 turnovers and held Framingham to 29.2% (19-65) shooting. The Rams finished 25-for-34 (73.5%) at the stripe.

The Rams are back in action next Wednesday when they host Westfield State at 5:30 p.m.
