Men’s Basketball Falls to Ranked Swarthmore

Swarthmore, PA – The Framingham State University men's basketball team was back in action this afternoon and were defeated 80-48 by Swarthmore College.  With the win, Swarthmore improves to 9-1 on the year, while the Rams fall to 4-8.

The Rams were paced by 20 points from junior Manny Payton (Fitchburg, Mass.). Payton connected on six-of-17 from the floor including four-of-eight from behind the arc.  Junior Charles Valbrun (Hyde Park, Mass.) added with points and five rebounds, while Cameren McCloud-Thomas (Springfield, Mass.) and Trevor Manyak (Bolton, Mass.) added six points apiece.

Swarthmore saw four players record double figures lead by 16 points off the bench for Nate Shafer.  Cam Wiley added 14, while Jim Lammers and Ryan Ingram added 12 and 11 respectively.

The Rams are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Suffolk University for a non-conference tilt beginning at 6 p.m.
