Salem, MA – The Framingham State field hockey team capitalized on their scoring opportunities to secure a 3-1 win against Salem State at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon. The Rams improved to 3-4 in conference play, while the Vikings remain winless in league action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Framingham State opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Kaitlin Loughlin found the back of the net, assisted by Marina Cadena.

The Rams doubled their lead early in the second period with an unassisted goal from Cadena, who finished off a solo effort at the 16:57 mark.

Salem State cut the deficit to 2-1 just before halftime, as Isabella Alcaraz converted a pass from Aleena Frith at 23:01.

The Rams, however, responded in the fourth period with an insurance goal from Natalia Roehr, who scored unassisted at the 45:51 mark to seal the victory.
