Worcester State Shuts Out Field Hockey; 2-0

Framingham, MA – Worcester State secured a 2-0 victory over Framingham State on Saturday, in a well-fought game at Maple St. Field. Two early goals proved to be enough for Worcester State, as they held Framingham State scoreless.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Worcester State took an early lead when Natalya Morin scored at 6:41 off an assist from Allison Keenan, putting the visitors ahead 1-0. 

  • Worcester doubled their lead in the second quarter with Rihanna Morin finishing a play assisted by Natalya Morin at 23:22, bringing the score to 2-0. 

  • Framingham State pressed forward in the second half, firing 17 total shots with 5 on target, but they were unable to break through Worcester State's defense, led by goalkeeper Madison Ferrara, who saved all 5 shots she faced. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots: Framingham State had 17 shots (5 on goal), outshooting Worcester State, who had 14 shots (7 on goal). 

  • Saves: Framingham State's Kaitlyn Tello made 5 saves, while Worcester State's Madison Ferrara kept a clean sheet with 5 saves of her own. 

  • Penalty Corners: Framingham State earned 9 penalty corners compared to Worcester State's 4, but couldn't convert any into goals.
