Amaral’s Hattrick Downs Field Hockey at UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth, Mass.– The UMass Dartmouth field hockey team received a third quarter hattrick by Mya Amaral en route to a 3-2 win over Framingham State in Little East action Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field. 

THE BASICS:

- Records:Framingham State (4-6, 1-6 LEC), UMass Dartmouth (4-8, 3-3 LEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Amaral got the Corsiars on the board in the 18th minute when she scored off an assist from Mikella Dasilva. 

  • The Rams answered with a goal of their own a few moments later when Jordyn O'Boyle found the back of the cage.  

  • Amaral struck again for an unassisted marker in the 27th minute and with help from Kylie Dias and Hannah Steen in the 28th minute.  

  • The Rams came out of the halftime break with a flury of shots and finally converted when Brandi Core scored off a pass from Corlene Guenard in the 54th minute but that's all they would get. 

  • Alyssa McDonough made five saves in the win for the Corsairs.  

  • The Rams led the shot count 17-to-12 while UMD earned 12 corners to the Rams 6.

  • The Rams return to the field on Tuesday when they host USM in Little East action at 7pm.
