Football Celebrates Senior Day with 30-20 Victory over Worcester State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University football team closed the regular season today with a 30-20 victory over Worcester State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field. 

THE BASICS:

-Records: Framingham State (3-7, 3-6 MASCAC), Worcester State (3-7, 3-6 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams offense erupted for 550 yards in the game including 354 yards rushing, while the Rams defense held the Lancers to 339 yards including just 23 yards on the ground. 

  • Camari Glasgow paced the Rams rushing attack as he amassed 137 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. Glasgow also made four catches for 69 yards. 

  • BiBi Ramos also surpassed 100 yards in the game as he rushed for 124 yards on 16 carries. 

  • EJ Nichols closed out his career as a Ram completing 16-of-32 passes for 196 yards with a touchdown and three picks, while rushing for 77 yards on 14 carries with two scores. 

  • Tyrell fuller led the Rams defense with five solo tackles, a tackle for a loss and a pass breakup, while Mitchell Purter added five stops including a pair of sacks. 

  • Kymauny Roland added three tackles and a sack, while Khalil Erazo chipped in with three tackles and a pair of pass breakups. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Lancers got on the board on the first play of the game as Lance WIlliams caught a 66 yard touchdown from Cam Ayotte, but the Rams scored 16 unanswered points in the second quarter taking the lead for good. 

  • The Rams first points came when Fuller sacked Ayotte in the endzone for a safety to open the second.  Nichols scored on a two yard run with just over seven to play in the half and Glasgow scored on a 17 yard run with just over a minute on the clock. Matthew Farley converted both extra points and the Rams led 16-6 at the half. 

  • The Rams used a 28 touchdown pass from Nichols to Ramirez early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 23-6. 

  • The Lancers received a pair of Nico Holmes one yard touchdown runs in the fourth quarter closing the gap to 23-20 with 2:17 to play. 

  • The Lancer attempted an onside kick, but recovered the ball before it traveled the 10 yards giving the Rams possession on the 39 yard line. Three plays later Nichols scored on a one yard run and Farley converted the extra point to reach the final score.
