UMass Dartmouth Downs Football on Rainy Friday Night

North Dartmouth, Mass. - The Framingham State University football team was defeated 58-13 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Cressy Field. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  UMass Dartmouth 58, Framingham State 13 

-Records: Framingham State (0-3, 0-2 MASCAC), UMass Dartmouth (3-0, 2-0 MASCAC) 

- Location: Cressy Field – North Dartmouth, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams received 75 yards passing from Donovan Cole who came on in relief in the second half. Cole connected on 1-of-5 passes and added a touchdown and a pick.  Treyvon Fields completed 9-of-20 passes for 68 yards with two picks. 

  • Ty Kelley was the Rams leading receiver as he made one catch for a 75-yard touchdown, while Ayden Ramirez added 42 yards receiving in the game. 

  • BiBi Ramos was the Rams leading rusher as he accumulated 39 yards on nine carries. Ramos averaged 4.3 yards per attempt. 

  • The Rams defense was led by 14 tackles including nine solo from Carl Renaudin, while Ronyel Pena added six stops.  Khalil Erazo added three pass breakups in the game. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Corsairs grabbed a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter before the Rams got on the board on a one-yard touchdown run from Fields. After Matthew Farley's extra point, the game was tied 7-7 in the opening minutes of the second. 

  • The Corsairs returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and two more scores to lead 26-7 at the half. 

  • The Corsairs added three scores in the third and one to start the fourth pushing the lead to 51-7. 

  • Cole connected with Kelley for a 75-yard touchdown for the Rams with just under 13 minutes to play in the game.
