Baseball Opens Season with 15-2 Victory over Emerson

Northborough, Mass. - The Framingham State University opened the 2025 season recording 15 hits as they defeated Emerson 15-3 in seven innings in non-conference action at the New England Baseball Complex.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams received five solid innings on the mound from Cam Prescott. Prescott scattered five hits while allowing no runs with two walks and two strikeouts. 

  • Nicholas Kutcher tossed two innings in relief and allowed two unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.  

  • Mossimo Mondi went 3-for-5 at the plate with a homerun, three runs scored and four RBI, while Steven Burbank went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Burbank recorded his 100th career hit in the game. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Rams grabbed the early lead with three runs in the top of the first on a two-run single from Daniel Robichaud and an RBI single from Lindkvist. 

  • The Rams pushed the lead to 4-0 in the top of the third on an RBI base hit from Dane Frellick. 

  • The Rams continued to build their lead adding three more runs in the top of the fourth and three more in the top of the fifth. 

  • Emerson got on the board in the bottom of the sixth with a pair of runs, but the Rams added four more in the top of the seventh to secure the victory in seven innings.
