Men's Soccer, Volleyball and Women's Soccer Set to Compete in This Week's MASCAC Tournaments

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's soccer, volleyball and women's soccer teams have all qualified for their respective Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournaments which will take place this week.

The men's soccer team was the 2019 MASCAC Regular Season Co-Champions with Salem State University and by virtue of the league's tiebreaker policy the Rams are the number one seed in this week's MASCAC Tournament.  The Rams finished the regular season 9-8-2 overall and 6-0-1 in league play.

As the number one seed, the Rams earn a first round bye and will host the winner of the #4 Worcester State/#5 Westfield State quarterfinal on Friday, November 8th in one semifinal.  The game will be played at Maple Street Field with a 4 p.m. start.

Second seed Salem State will host the winner of the #3 Fitchburg State/#6 Bridgewater State quarterfinal in the other semifinal on Friday.  The quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday and the winner of the two semifinals will meet on Sunday at the highest remaining seed. The winner of Sunday's final receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Championships.

The volleyball team is the second seed in this week's MASCAC Volleyball Championship.  The Rams finished the regular season 17-11 overall and 6-1 in the MASCAC.

The Rams earn a first round bye and will host the winner of the #3 Bridgewater State/#6 Salem State quarterfinal in one semifinal on Thursday night.  The game will be played at 7:15 p.m. at the Athletic Center.

Top seed Westfield State will host the winner of the #4 MCLA/#5 Worcester State quarterfinal in the other semifinal on Thursday night.  The quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday and the winner of the two semifinals will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed. The winner of Saturday's final match receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championships.

The women's soccer team finished the regular season 2-13-1 overall and 2-5 in league play. The Rams earned the fifth seed in the MASCAC Tournament and will travel to fourth seed Bridgewater State on Tuesday night for a quarterfinal. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and the winner will advance to face top seed Westfield State on Friday in one semifinal.

Third seed Worcester State hosts sixth seed Fitchburg State in the other quarterfinal on Tuesday with the winner of that game advancing to face second seed Salem State on Friday in the other semifinal.  The tournament concludes on Sunday with the winners of the two semifinals meeting at the highest remaining seed.  The winner of Sunday's final receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships.
