Chamberlain Leads the Charge for the Rams at the Golden Bear Invitational

Springfield, Mass. – Freshman Haley Chamberlain (Charlton, Mass) finished second in a field of 210 with a time of 19:51.72 leading the Framingham State Women's Cross Country team to a 6th place finish at the Golden Bear Invitational Cross Country Invitational hosted by Western New England University on Saturday. The men's team also competed placing 17th as a team.  

Junior Hannah Daly (Ashland, Mass) was the next Ram to cross the line ath the 21:04.81 (32nd). Daly was followed by a trio of Framingham State competitors. Sophomore Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass) crossed the line at 21:50.25 (50th). Freshman Megan Peterson (Walpole, Mass) and Emily Mulloy (East Bridgewater, Mass) crossed at 21:51.72 (51st) & 21:55.06 (52nd).

Freshman Valerie Thibaud (Charlton, Mass) & Taylor Roberts (North Brookfield, Mass) also broke the top 100 with times of 23:06.15 (92nd) and 23:18.72 (98th).
On the men's side, the top finisher for the Rams was sophomore Dan Stevens (Holliston, Mass) with a time 29:49.59 (62nd). The next best time for the Rams was recorded by sophomore Richard Wertz (South Easton, Mass) coming home at 30:11.34 (71st).
The women's team finished 6th with an average time of 21:21.72 and the men finished 17th with an average time of 23:44.24.
Framingham State will return to action at the MASCAC/Alliance Championships hosted by MCLA on November 1st
