Women’s Cross Country Sixth at MASCAC Championships

Gorham, Maine – The Framingham State women's cross country team finished sixth in the  Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship meet and 11th overall at the New England Alliance Championship on Saturday at Southern Maine.

Keene State captured the Alliance crown with 17 points and Westfield State took the MASCAC title with 34 points. The Rams posted 319 points in the Alliance portion of the event and 168 points amongst MASCAC competition.

Junior Janet Brady (Whitman, Mass.) raced to a 21:04.62 for 51st overall and 14th among MASCAC student-athletes. Freshman Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) broke into the Alliance top-100 with a 92nd place 22:25.60 which was good for 37 in the conference.

Sophomore Jenna Anan (Littleton, Mass.) was 111th/50th with a time of 23:30.77 as classmate Fiona Coughlan (Quincy, Mass.) was 114th/53rd with a personal-best 23:49.38. Sophomore Emma Hazen (Framingham, Mass.) retuned to the lineup with a 24:18.21 (121st/58th)

Freshman Kayleigh Laughlin (Gardner, Mass.) turned in a 25:23.47 (131st/65th) while classmate Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, Mass.) clocked a 25:27.75 for 133rd/67th. Sophomore Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, Mass.) was 140th/70th to complete the Rams scoring with a 26:05.15.

Framingham State heads to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship meet on Saturday at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. hosted by Roger Williams.
