Women's Cross Country Places 5th at Massachusetts Maritime Lt. Travis J. Fuller Women's Cross Country Invitational

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - Sophomore Emma Hazen (Framingham, Mass.) paced the Framingham State women's cross country team with a ninth-place finish as the Rams placed fifth at the Ninth Annual Massachusetts Maritime Lt. Travis J. Fuller Women's Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Babson won the event with 33 points as Rivier (64) and Emerson (90) came in second and third. Curry was fourth (98) and Framingham State shored up the top five with 116 points.

Hazen clocked a 21:45 while freshman Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) was three runners behind in 12th (22:08). Sophomore Jenna Anan (Littleton, Mass.) crossed the finish line 27th (23:49) and was followed by freshman Jillian Preman (Wilbraham, Mass.) in 36th (24:57) and sophomore Philomena Nessralla (Marshfield, Mass.) in 45th (25:49). The final points were scored by sophomore Fiona Coughlan (Quincy, Mass.) who turned in a time of 26:05 for 47th place.

The women's cross country team is idle until Saturday, September 21 when the team heads to the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational.
