Buzzards Bay, Mass. — Nearly 500 student-athletes, including 43 student-athletes from Framingham State University, have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2010 All-Academic Team as announced by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann this afternoon.

Chicopee, Mass. – The Framingham State University women’s cross country team finished fourth , but Johnson & Wales University placed four runners in the top five in the men’s race while the University of New England (UNE) had three runners finish in the top five in the women’s race to help pace their respective teams to victory in Saturday afternoon’s Blazers Invitational cross country event at Chicopee Memorial State Park.

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - The start of the 2010-11 academic year has brought both excitement and change to the MASCAC, as the conference today officially announced it will change the word “College” to “Collegiate” in its acronym. The eight-member league will celebrate its 40th anniversary and begin its fifth decade of excellence by becoming the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, effective immediately.
